"ICARE TO VOTE" Campaign
The “I Care 2 Vote” Campaign launched on February 23, 2015 at the 1st Annual W.E.B. DuBois Day in Philadelphia, PA. The students of I.C.A.R.E. Academy (#AOTL) began to study the Constitution of The United States of America.
Now honoring the 151st Anniversary of the 15th Amendment, the focus is surrounded around Voters Rights and Awareness. Our main concern is the absence of a proper education of voters rights and awareness on the previous presidential election and local election that determine the fate of our citizens.
Our Voter Registration Drive signed up over 500 first time voters ranging from ages 18-65.
The campaign also educates on how and where to vote. Constant reminders and information about the upcoming elections are also included. We will unite the youth to be aware of our current cultural conditions and take charge of the city in which they live in. I.C.A.R.E. plans to continue to sign up first time voters. We will constantly record and promote using audio/video PSAs in order to keep the mission alive.
